My first experience cosplaying…this may sound odd, but the best part was meeting many other cosplayers and those people who don’t cosplay but appreciate what we do.
Wearing the costume was certainly a lot of fun, I won’t deny that and the fact that I get to do this great hobby with my brother Damon is a big bonus. In the beginning having him to introduce me into this world and to his new friends was a huge benefit.
What have I gained? I have a whole new circle of friends that I never would have met had it not been for cosplaying. They are a great group of people. There are also costuming groups here in Minnesota that I belong to that do charity work, most working with children. Whatever joy I get from cosplaying, those kids give back to me tenfold.
