Cosplay in America has been posting short interviews with cosplayers since 2010 and while we’re not going to stop doing these type of interviews, we are shifting toward longer form of interviews focused on cosplayer’s origin and other stories, or perhaps they have a costume that helped them through a period time in their life, or maybe what cosplay means to that person specifically.
Tell your story in whatever format you feel comfortable expressing – write it out, make an audio recording so you can record at your own availability. We can schedule a time and do an audio interview as well. If you like some idea of what to send in, read this or this or this here.
The goal is to collect, preserve and make accessible stories of those in the cosplay/costuming scene. Through collecting and archiving stories and photos, we aim to provide a historical perspective for current and future cosplay enthusiasts.
