I remember sometimes having to doom scroll thru messages because if something was a hot topic multiple people would be emailing at the same time so would have several different conversations going on with the same header title. After cosplay.com started in 2001/2002? the COSP traffic died way down as it was so much easier to read forum threads. But before c.c the COSP mailing list was how I found out about multiple cons, how people found pictures, or discussing cosplay contests (Kevin Lillard would post the pictures on a Fansview but before youtube started in 2005 would just have to ask what skits had been about if didn’t want to accidently do something similar). I went digital mid 2002 so I only have video snippets starting from that date, so con videos were very rare commodity back then.
